~ God Wills It ~

Let me start by saying that “God is good all the time; all the time God is good.” I am in awe of how God declares His greatness and magnificence. There is not a single event in our lives that does not come under His watchful eye. Nothing escapes, nothing and no one. Whatever He wills is going to happen, and nothing can stand in its way. All will transpire exactly as God has planned and calculated.

Barely a week ago, I received a call from Josie, a fellow Lay Missionaries of Charity who recently visited one of the houses of Blessed Mother Teresa’s Home for the Dying in the Philippines. The scarcity of resources and supplies to care for the elderly and the dying is very evident but does not in any way cause a twinge of discouragement or give rise to dismay and anxiety, nor does it diminish the nuns’ desire and put their mission to a halt but rather transform and inspire those who witness their love for Jesus in the distressing guise of the poor with a smile and a joyful heart.

Substantially struggling with wound care supplies, Josie was moved to tears as she recalls her private encounter with the nuns as they wash and clean the wounds of the dying with utmost care, compassion and gentleness.

Mother Teresa quotes:

“No one should die alone … each human should die with the sight of a loving face.”

Inspired by the nuns’ love for Jesus to serve Him in the distressing guise of the poor, and determined to show God’s mercy to His people, I was compelled to take action to help. On the same day, I asked for donations on behalf of the dying that the nuns care for, and in a matter of hours, donations were pouring in. People were so enthusiastic to give and willing to help. Someone even offered to cover the cost of the box shipment which is quite expensive to ship internationally.

By the grace of GOD, in less than a week, FIVE huge boxes full of wound care supplies and miscellaneous items will be shipped off to the Philippines this week! Wow! Isn’t GOD just awesome? He is truly in our midst…. and definitely showing off! I am overwhelmed and humbled by the kindness and generosity of God’s humble servants to help those in the Philippines who care for the dying.

Blessed Mother Teresa gently prods us to love as Jesus did as she said:

“Stay where you are. Find your own Calcutta. Find the sick, the suffering, and the lonely right there where you are — in your own homes and in your own families, in your workplaces and in your schools. You can find Calcutta all over the world, if you have the eyes to see. Everywhere, wherever you go, you find people who are unwanted, unloved, uncared for, just rejected by society — completely forgotten, completely left alone.”

To God be the glory!
